Tom was incredibly helpful from start to finish. His communication was excellent; he kept me fully informed about what needed to be done, explained everything clearly, and made sure all of my concerns were addressed along the way. He worked closely with me and the realtor on my dad’s property and ensured that all documentation was completed properly for inspection. His pricing was reasonable, and I truly appreciated his integrity, transparency, and dedication to doing the job right. I trusted him completely and was very happy with the entire experience. Highly recommend.

Definite 5-star service. The morning of New Year's Eve I put out a request on Angi and expected nothing until after New Year's. Tom called within 5 minutes and I explained our issue. He said someone could be out here the same morning, and he arrived at 11:00am. Tom was patient, polite, personable, and most of all knew his stuff. He identified source of our short, installed a new dimmer switch, re-wired our two hanging lamps, and even made sure they were level before he left. And the price was fair. It was a great New Year's surprise. In short, he's a pro.

Tom was able to convert a very old outlet into a safe outlet for my internet connection. He also replaced a broken GFI outlet. Tom was super nice and pricing seemed fair to me. He has good communication skills and followed through with what he said he would do. I would highly recommend!

I highly recommend anyone who needs a knowledgeable, experienced electrician to call University Electric. My partner and I had only moved into our new (to us) home a couple of months when the power went out, but only in half of our home. Strange, but there was an outage in the area so we hoped it would resolve relatively quickly. Unfortunately, it did not.

We called a few companies but couldn’t secure an appointment quickly. But Tom at University Electric could tell we were in a bind and made a point to fit us into his schedule the next day. When he began his review of the situation, it quickly became clear that we had more than a simple issue on our hands.

He was able to get our power back on that day. And while we could have functioned with our setup as it was longer term, it was clear that there were some wiring issues that could cause future headaches. So we decided to have him come back to track down the underlying concern.

Without any long term knowledge about the home, we knew it was going to be a bit of a process to determine where the problem was originating. Tom made some educated choices on where to begin testing that allowed him to track down the problem quicker than expected. He explained everything to us along the way so we knew what actions were needed. And his prices were more than fair for the time and effort he spent to make sure our house was set up well for the future.

He was an absolute pleasure to work with and he will be the very first call we make if we need electrical work done in the future. If you are in need of a knowledgeable, honest and dedicated electrician, I encourage you to give him a call!

I want to start by saying—Tom was great!

I submitted a claim for my A/C not working through my home warranty provider, Home Warranty of America (which, for the record, has been a frustrating experience—they do everything they can to avoid covering anything). The A/C vendor they initially sent out determined that the issue was electrical and said the company would need to send an electrician.

Days later, Tom arrived and quickly assessed the problem. Given the age of the electrical system in my home, he was able to pinpoint the issue—it turned out I needed a new thermostat. Tom and I both suspected the warranty company wouldn’t cover much, if any, of the cost, so he advised me to go ahead and purchase a new thermostat. He even waited while I ran to the store and asked me to text him a picture to make sure I was buying the correct one.

Tom was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. He walked me through everything he was doing and helped me understand what went wrong and why. After nearly three weeks without A/C, my system was finally back up and running—thanks to Tom.

Huge thanks to you, Tom! I truly appreciate your help.
